What is Concrete Canvas (GCCM)?
Concrete Canvas (also known as Geosynthetic Cementitious Mat, or GCCM) is a revolutionary construction material that combines the flexibility of a geotextile with the strength and durability of conventional concrete.
It consists of a three-dimensional fiber matrix, filled with a specially formulated dry concrete mix, and backed with a waterproof PVC membrane. When hydrated, the material sets to form a hard, durable, impermeable concrete layer—typically reaching 80% of its final strength within 24 hours.
This unique concrete fabric offers a rapid, low-labor alternative to traditional poured concrete or shotcrete for a wide range of applications.
How It Works: The 3-Step Process
Unroll: The flexible mat is simply rolled out over the prepared surface, like a carpet. No mixing, no formwork.
Secure: The edges are anchored and adjacent sheets are overlapped or sewn.
Hydrate: Water is applied (spray or pump). The dry concrete mix hydrates, and the material sets。
The result? A durable, erosion-resistant concrete layer, ready for service in 24 hours.

FAQ
1.Q: How does Concrete Canvas compare to traditional shotcrete?
A: Concrete Canvas installs faster, requires no formwork or heavy mixing equipment, and produces little to no waste. It is ideal for remote sites or rapid response. Shotcrete offers higher strength for large structural walls but involves more complex logistics.
2.Q: Can vegetation grow through Concrete Canvas?
A: Yes. For applications where vegetation is desired, a perforated or vegetated version is available. The cured mat provides erosion protection while allowing selected species to root through.
3.Q: How long does it last?
A: The cured GCCM has a service life exceeding 25 years in most exposed environments. The geotextile fibers are alkali-resistant and UV-stabilized.
4.Q: What surface preparation is required?
A: The subgrade should be firm, free of sharp protrusions, and have a uniform profile. For slopes, minor irregularities are acceptable as the mat conforms. No formwork or rebar is needed.
5.Q: Can it be applied underwater or in wet conditions?
A: Yes, Concrete Canvas can be hydrated and set underwater, making it suitable for submerged applications like pipeline protection or erosion control in rivers and canals.
